Comments gathered in informal groups at the end
of the Autumn Term 2012.
Enjoy:
biscuits and coffee, variety of subjects, friendly, demonstrations, everything,
black paper with white.
Suggestions:
all day session, more long poses – or one pose throughout, (keep on with the
short ones though), more working from dark background, more milk chocolate
biscuits, better parking.
Enjoy
friendly atmosphere and critique session at tend
Would
welcome a little more individual tuition without having to ask for help.
A wonderful
way to start the week
I love the
structured approach to the class – one learns much more than just sitting and
drawing. Your advice is always
constructive
Enjoy the
structure of the class. Enjoy the
variety and flexibility
Could do
with better heating in the main hall.
Any chance
of decaff coffee?
Like: hands
and feet, long poses. Not so keen: with
clothes.
Really
great as is. Great models.
Pack of
green tea would be nice
Also not so
keen on the clothing.
A delight
to come!
Could I
have a suggestion? No it's perfect
It's
perfect apart from a bit of a problem parking on Mondays (and those short
poses!)
How about a
portrait class?
Always a
pleasure and a challenge.
I like the
longer poses as well as the quick ones.
The occasional less than perfectly beautiful model might be another
challenge. Although I do love our
models!
I don't
like long poses
Really like
the variety, timings and approaches.
Could we look at different artists' styles and apply them?
Thanks
Derek for a great term. I loved the way
you stressed the idea of each class working into the next and reminding us to
think about what we've been doing in previous classes.
Happy to
try different things. Like pen and
ink. Enjoyed hands and feet.
Variety
Hand and
feet went well. Pen and ink not so good
for me
Pen and ink
fun Watercolours. Good programme this
term
More
portraiture
Cubist
styles
Use of
white pastel and ink
Enjoy
experimenting with different materials
Longer pose
is good.
Like music,
me too fun and stimulating.
Pluses too
many to mention
Minus –
none
Possible
topics: composition, strange views, cropped images X2
Portraits
because you love them so much
Colour
opposites
Lucian Freud
Good: blind
contour
Pen and ink
Good –
black and whites
Coffee is
nice
Long
portrait pose please
More
strange lighting
Charcoal on
tinted paper looking at Prud'hon is really helping. Normally charcoal is such a challenge Great to have such an
enthusiastic teacher
Great
exercise for the right side of the brain.
I like the
class (last term) where Matisse was projected on the model
Also some
tuition on measuring
More
demonstrations please
Maybe some less
beautiful models
Everything
is great!
Maybe some
students could give us a demonstration of their work
Your
classes are perfect Derek!
Lots going
well. Focus on detail eg hand and feet
were a highlight this term
More on
composition - and more on colour would
be good for next term.
More longer
poses, more colour.
I enjoyed
the red lights
I would
like to look deeper at some artist
drawing / paintings
A class on
backgrounds please
Always
enjoy the quick sketches and miss them when there a class without
I think the
class is perfect and your teaching is just perfect
Really
liked the hand and feet
I enjoy the
two-pose classes
I'd love to
do a bit more with ink, perhaps doing more of the tonal technique.
